It's about ten minutes walk to the nearest access point, with ducks and swans, canal boats and and canoes, and row boats to hire on Sundays. A very pretty place to stroll as far as you like.

If you're busy sightseeing and want the convenience of prepared food, this frozen meals shop is amazing. We're keen cooks, but many of their meals are at least as good as we could make ourselves. We provide a large freezer, so you can do a big shop (they deliver) and it'll work out much more economically than always eating out.

When they couldn't cope with the queues, they opened here, with an amazing array of cakes and pastries and other evils for your waistline. Go on, treat yourself.

And it's definitely a local institution - a bit like an antique shop turned into an upmarket bar & eatery with one of the best selections of malt whiskies in town. But be warned - dress smartly and behave, or you may be turfed out by the rather snobbish owners who can be pretty rude.
