Sansei is great and even better if you go there during their late night happy hour on Friday or Saturday, or their early bird special on Sunday or Monday when almost all food items are half off of regular price. Sit at the sushi bar and get a complimentary order of edamame or sit at the bar for better service.

very casual and non pretentious. Not like the other Thai place at the Queens' marketplace. This one is not expensive. The orange chicken is their best seller. I like the chow fun.

Best sunset location in Kona, right on the water. Sit at the bar for a full view of Kailua Bay and the sunset. Try the garlic fries but ya better be hungry cause it's more than a mouthful.

Custom juices, uptown prices. But, if you gotta have a healthy juice, go. I call it a secret spot cause if you don't know, you'll miss it. It's behind the Foodland Farms grocery store in the Shops at Mauna Lani.

Go directly to the back deli counter to the right side of store and select one of the best sandwich deals ever. Huge sandwiches ready to go for $6. Wow. Also, it's the closest pharmacy. 15 minute drive for a REAL grocery store.
This is where I fill up my large water bottles and stock up on essentials. Check the bargains out on the mail-outs in the front of the store by the registers.

my favorite beach for swimming in clear protected water. Gotta get there before 8A to get one of the highly sought after parking spots. There free but limited to a very small number and all of the sleepy heads will be turned away starting about 8:30. Check both ends of the beach b/c it's always a little clearer on one end or the other.

Getting Around
This is one option for getting to the condo. It is not as fast as a taxi, b/c it will make stops on the way, but it is less expensive. Once you get to the resort, you can walk to the stores, rent a bike at one of two places (see this guide book) or hop on the resort shuttle for 2 bucks, but it stops only at the Marriott, the Hilton, the Queens' Marketplace and the Kings' Shops.
