Minnehaha Creek starts from Lake Minnetonka (very close to us) and winds it way through the city to Minnehaha Falls and then empties into the Mississippi River. The falls are worth going to see any time of year. It is a great photo opportunity.

The falls provided water power for milling flour and companies such as Pillsbury and the forerunner to General Mills, and many others got their start powered by the Mississippi River at St. Anthony Falls. This museum is about the history of those early flour milling days. Close by is the Stone Arch Bridge over the Mississippi River - a must see if you are downtown Minneapolis
