Just beware of a wait on weekend nights; it's a small place with a big reputation and waits can get lengthy.

The Portland Children's Museum is tied with Disney as our kid's TOP favorite place in the world. Best suited for children 2-6 or so, but there is also a baby-play area. It's incredibly creative, kept clean, and worth the pretty drive to the other side of the city.
