Food Scene
Long Beach is a great place for food any time of day, be it breakfast, lunch or dinner. They produce great quality products, including their own beer from the North End Brewery and make their pizzas from freshly made dough delivered from Olde Beach (sister company). You can also enjoy live music every Sundays from 3pm to 6pm.
If you love a great steak, I would highly recommend you trying out the "Chargrilled Taupo Angus Sirloin" from the dinner menu.

They are open Mon–Sat 7am to 4pm and Sun 8am to 4pm. Highly recommend this place if you haven't tried already.

Great place to feed the ducks and the lagoon also has good numbers of NZ Scaup, Dabchick, Grey Teal, Shoveller, and Shags. There is a large fir tree in which Shags roost and breed, and Spoonbill may also sometimes be seen roosting at the top of the tree.

The Otaihanga Domain is a great picnic area right by the river. It has much bird-life and is an ideal spot for kayaking with a swinging bridge. There are also several walking trails nearby (also used by cyclists as well as hikers) but for all types to enjoy especially during Spring and Summer seasons.
