The Guilty Plate has amazing pancakes and awesome home-cooked reasonably priced breakfasts! They close after lunch so go early in the day.

For a little more upscale dining, try Pauline's-- everything is fresh and most is local, and they have a great amount of veggies on the menu. Nice healthy food and excellent cocktails.

Nearest public lake access from our house! The parking lot for Thayer Beach is called Rossetti Natural Area parking lot, and it's on the corner of Church Rd and Holy Cross Rd/W Lakeshore Dr. Park your car and then take the trail about 10 minutes through the woods to the beach.
