This river "beach" is located less than 5 minutes from our home, and it's one of our favorite places to visit! It's the perfect place to picnic, skip rocks, or swim and play in the sand alongside the water. It is perfect for kids as there is a gentle entry into the water from the beach sand. There is no lifeguard and no bathroom facilities, so please plan accordingly. (If you drive to our home from downtown West Jefferson or 221, you pass the beach after Boggs Road straightens out by the river).
