This is one of my favorite place to go in Los Angeles. It is over 200 acres of some of the most beautiful gardens in the world; including Japanese, Chinese, Desert, Australian and Bonsai gardens and more. There is a world class art gallery and a library with rare manuscripts. This place is truly magnificent! It's in Pasadena, so you really need a car to get there. You can also use a combination of public transport and Lyft/Uber. I'm a member of the gardens and if I have time, I would be happy to take you with me. Feel free to ask me about this. Closed on Tuesdays.

Runyon Canyon is just at the top of my street. You can walk from my home and not only get some exercise and be in nature, but also see some great views of the city. You also might be just run into some of your favorite actors up there. It's one for the most famous spots for dog walking and hiking in Hollywood.

The Getty Center is truly magnificent. It's one of my favorite places in the city. The architecture is world class and plenty of people go there, just to see the buildings and the grounds. It's free to visit, but the parking is $15. You can easily go for half the day or for just an hour or two. Once you park, you take a free tram up to the museum, which is part of the fun of visiting. You will have a wonderful view of the ocean from the Getty. Highly recommended! In the summer, they have free music in the evenings and often have a variety of cultural events and concerts. Check out their website for more info. www.getty.edu. Closed on Mondays.

Sightseeing
The Griffith Park Observatory is a wonderful place to visit if you have the time. You will see some of the best views in the city, including the Hollywood sign. One of my favorite things about going there, besides the beauty of the park and the incredible building, are the live shows in the Planetarium. The Observatory is free, but these shows range between $3-$7, depending on if you are a student, senior, etc.
If you don't have a car, there is public transportation up there only on the weekends or you can hike up there from Fern Dell (in Griffith Park) or take an Uber/Lyft. Closed on Mondays, but plenty of people still go up there for the view.

Food Scene
Cafe Gratitude is one of my favorite local restaurants. It's a fun and yummy vegan restaurant and definitely a hot spot in Los Angeles. You will likely see someone famous there, but more importantly, it's a fun place to go and just down the street from wonderful Larchmont village. There is also a Cafe Gratitude in Venice and in The Arts District in Downtown LA. I highly recommend their phenomenal 'raw' cheesecakes, like the Tiramisu, as well as the "I am Cool" mint chocolate chip smoothie. Yum!!

This restaurant is gorgeous and elegant (but it's L.A. so you can wear anything), just across the street from Disney Hall. You would need to book the show in advance and make a reservation for the restaurant on Friday and Saturday night, as they often sell out, especially for seating before the show.

If you have time and are curious, it would be my joy to take you to the market on Sunday morning, if I am available. Otherwise, it's only a 30 minute walk from my place or a short drive or Lyft ride.

This is a wonderful, fairly healthy and affordable grocery store, which we in California love and are proud to show off. TJ's is now in several other states too. One cool and inexpensive gift idea, for your family and friends at home, is a Trader Joe's reusable shopping bag with a Sunset Blvd. Hollywood theme. Each city has a bag with it's own design and they are only $1 each! Now that's a bargain! There are two Trader Joe's stores walking distance from here. The closest one is on Sunset Blvd, near Crescent Heights Blvd.
