The garden includes a large conservatory exhibiting plants from a number of different regions, including savanna, fynbos, karoo and others. From the gardens several trails lead off along and up the mountain slopes and these are much used by walkers and mountaineers. One of the trails, up a ravine called Skeleton Gorge, is an easy and popular route to the summit of Table Mountain.

Three wineries producing well-loved wines; a cheesery and a range of top-notch olive oils. Everything is available for tasting (wine at a tasting fee) and available for purchase in both small and large quantities.
The Goat shed restaurant is a converted wine cellar with cosy indoor seating and outdoor terraces for alfresco dining lapping up the view over the lavender bushes and beyond. This rustic setting is wonderfully relaxed holding 220 guests in a Mediterranean eatery style with clay tiles and wooden tables, chairs and benches.
