This hotel is just 200 meters down the road from us. Their food is usually good; best value of all is their self-serve Sunday Brunch, served from 10:30 am on Sundays -& their swimming pool is even bigger than ours! But the Ariana owners are also our good friends & neighbours!

Although there's a large air-con dining room, its best to grab a table outside in the gardens by the fishing lake, under the shade of some handsome old mango trees. The beer is ice cold; food comes in big servings. Freshly made fruit shakes are delicious. There's only a few flights a day from the airport; otherwise it's really peaceful; one of the best airport cafes in the world!

This is where everyone (especially young students etc) hangs out in the evenings. Often the cafes and bars come and go, or change their management, so it's impossible to recommend any single place.
Do not forget all the great (and very cheap!) BBQ grilled chicken stalls, who set up every night, at the rear of the carpark area!
Watch the local fishing fleet setting off from the pier, just after sunset, to catch tomorrows lunch!

Pay only 10 Pesos to park your car at the base. Non-Catholics are also most welcome to get some good exercise and fresh air - it can be quite cool higher up the mountain!
Top tip: Bring/carry your own mineral water and/or beer to drink when you arrive at the top!
