The Compton is a proper village pub. You'll be welcome, there's good food, good beer and plenty of parking. It's a pretty village too. Normal pub prices, beer garden etc. It may be wise to book a table on the weekends.

The Pig restaurant is open to non-residents and never pretends to be cheap: but it is unique and oh, so good (and they buy our quinoa too)! Shabby chic, excellent food, great staff and a kitchen garden to die for; go there and experience something new. Dress up a little but not too much. Booking (online) essential.
The Ivy is in Milsom Street, at the top of Bath’s shopping area. Our kids, who spend money much more freely than we do (!), say it's brill! Not overly expensive but certainly not budget either.

They do a brilliant afternoon cream tea that we love but it’s essential to book.
The Boathouse is beside the river and Newbridge Park & Ride on the A4, our side of Bath. A hearty full English breakfast served up to 11am and it’s a perfect place for a cooling summer’s evening drink beside the river.

The hot tips if you go to Wells: the Chapter House just adjacent to the cathedral, the picturesque Vicar's Close and the amazing, ancient clock inside the cathedral. A walk around the palace moat is lovely and you may see the swans ring the bell to be fed too!

The Daily Telegraph voted this Britain's best Christmas market. It is hoped 2021’s market will be held but of course it will be subject to Covid restrictions. So if you plan to come, keep an eye on the Bath Christmas Market website and hopefully we’ll see those 170 stalls, electric atmosphere, beautifully presented food and mulled wine again this year. We do hope so!

This is where the last Concorde to fly into the UK now spends her days. Did you know there are have been more astronauts than Concorde pilots? However, there are many other aircraft at the Aerospace Museum apart from Concorde but she is THE exhibit and it’s all very hands-on. You will not be disappointed: Gerald my husband would live there!

Getting Around
Parking in the city is expensive and driving in the city can be confusing! This P&R is about 3 miles from us, on our side of the city - please do it! Free parking and you pay the driver for a return ticket. Remember where you were dropped in the city to find it again on the way home. Plenty of buses doing the round trip, a really good service.
