The Zelenci Lake can be discovered immediately after the village of Podkoren on the southern side of the main road. This natural reserve is home to various interesting flora, among it carnivorous sundew, and among animals, amphibiansand nesting birds are represented in large numbers.

The Vrata Valley (Door Valley) in the heart of the Julian Alps leads to the base of the northern wall of the Slovenian highest peak Triglav.
It is the largest glacial redesigned valley on the north side of the Julian Alps, stretching from Mojstrana to the foot of the North Wall. On the trail we first come to the two waterfalls with the common name Peričnik. From Peričnik to Vrata (the Door) the trail leads under the »Galleries«. The Galleries are the hollowed and sometimes overhanging conglomerate rocks, hollowed-out and eroded by the stream, which today runs deep below.

Vršič Mountain Pass with its 1,611m is the highest road pass in the Eastern Julian Alps. The high-mountain road from Kranjska Gora through Vršič to Log in Trenta has 50 serpentines, 24 on the side of Kranjska Gora and 26 on the Trenta side.
In Vršič, you can relax and have something to eat or drink in the mountain cabins.Vršič is also the starting point for the Mala Mojstrovka and Jalovec Mountain sand for a very popular (mostly for families) Slemenova Špica Mountain.

Within the framework of the Nordic Centre Planica, seven new ski jumping hills were built with the accompanying facilities. The ski-flying hill built by the brothers Gorišek was also renovated. Planica is not only the ski flying hill or starting point for a trip to the Tamar Valley, but can also be a very interesting family trip in itself. Go from Rateče and explore this picturesque Alpine valley.
