My studio flat is situated in the centre of the village of Provesende, Upper Corgo, in the Douro Valley. Which is one of the oldest demarcated and regulated wine regions in the world, Protected Designation of Origin: Port or Porto. (Portuguese fortified wine produced with distilled grape spirits, exclusively in the Douro Valley). It's also a World Heritage Site, for being the landscape most transformed by hand, by man: the socalcos (narrow and irregular terraces, where the vineyards grow).

De studio met het vier meter hoge plafond bevindt zich in het traditionele en beschermde wijndorp Provesende in het hart van de Dourovallei, Unesco werelderfgoed. Het is onderdeel van het grote authentieke woonhuis met muren van een meter dik. Het heeft een eigen ingang en een terras in de tuin. In het huis bevinden zich drie studio's met eigen ingang en twee kamers. De tuin en het zwembad zijn voor gemeenschappelijk gebruik.

This one bedroom apartment is on the top floor of a pretty house in the attractive village of Provesende, in the heart of the port-producing area of the Douro. Surrounded by vineyards, Provesende is just off the road between Pinhao and Sabrosa.
