White Pines Lake is a fabulous place for fishing, boating, hiking, exploring, and swimming!

One of our favorite places in Arnold to base your family-friendly high-sierra play is pretty White Pines Lake with its disc golf course, sandy beaches, picnic tables, children’s playground area and basketball court. You can’t go wrong with a picnic lunch here followed by fishing, hiking, kayaking, paddle-boarding or swimming. At one end is the fascinating Sierra Nevada Logging Museum, which also serves as the trailhead for the Arnold Rim Trail. Just 5 minutes east is Calaveras Big Trees State Park.

Sandy beaches, close and easy to get to. A couple of cheap rafts from Walmart, Dollar Store or Red Store and you got hours of fun. Easy walking trail as well

Just one mile outside of Arnold, White Pines is a great place for fishing, hiking, beach time, or a picnic. It’s a small and beautiful high country lake with beaches, picnic tables, a children’s playground and disc golf course. This lake can be the center of your entire day and is also a great spot to start your hike along the Arnold Rim Trail, or visit the Sierra Nevada Logging Museum.
