New Clairvaux Vineyard, located in Northern California town of Vina, is a unique winery on farmland with prunes and walnuts orchards, as well as vineyards to sustain the community. The Welcome Center and Gift Store are open daily from 9:30 am – 4:15 pm. The Wine Tasting Room is open daily from 11 am – 5 pm. New Clairvaux is also the home of Trappist-Cistercian monks, who have reconstructed a twelfth century Spanish monastery on the property where monks chant the daily Opus Dei or Divine Office.

Just a 10 minute drive from our Airbnb. You must go to the New Clairevaux for several reasons. The monks, the wine and the reconstruction of the Sacred Stones Chapter house. The Chapter House, reconstructed at the monastery, was originally built in Spain between 1190 and 1220. It was originally purchased, dismantled and brought to San Francisco by William Randolph Hearst in 1931. First intended to be the centerpiece of a new building project that was to surpass that of San Simeon, it remained scattered about Golden Gate State Park until the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco awarded it to the Abbey.
