Kure City is very famous for its unique institutions like the Yamato Museum in which a one-tenth scale model of the battleship "Yamato" is on display, and the JMSDF Kure Museum, where the retired submarine "Oyashio" is uniquely exhibited, both of which attract many tourists from across Japan.
