If you face the mountain, under which the Old Town of Kotor is located, and look up, you will see the fortress wall, whimsically winding along the slope. It depicts tiny figures of people rising to the top of the mountain and descending. This wall, more than 4 km long, was built, rebuilt and fortified from the 9th to the 19th century. The fortress of St. Ivan stands at an altitude of about 280 meters above sea level - here you have to climb to see the breathtaking panorama of the Bay of Kotor. --- Если встать лицом к горе, под которой расположился Старый город Котор, и посмотреть вверх, увидите крепостную стену, причудливо петляющую по склону. На ней – крошечные фигурки людей, поднимающиеся к вершине горы и спускающиеся вниз. Эту стену, длиной более 4 км., строили, перестраивали и укрепляли с 9 по 19 век. Крепость Святого Ивана стоит на высоте около 280 метров над уровнем моря – сюда и предстоит подняться, чтобы увидеть умопомрачительную панораму Бока-Которского залива.
