We highly recommend to visit this small museum in the Citadel, Victoria. It gives you a very clear idea of prehistoric Gozo and you can see all the amazing over 2000 years old amphoras found in Xlendi bay in the 1950s, 60s and recently in 2007.

The Gozo Museum of Archaeology is a museum in the Cittadella of Victoria in Gozo, Malta. The museum of was opened in 1960 as the first public museum in Gozo and was known as the Gozo Museum. The museum was redesigned and reopened in 1986 as the Archaeology Museum of Gozo.

Within the Citadel, is the lovely museum houses a number Phoenician, Punic, and Roman artefacts found on several sites in Gozo and Comino as well as artefacts from the period of the Knights of St John.
