Before the Mission was filled with artisanal ice cream shops and designer boutiques, there was Beretta. This casual Italian spot opened in 2008 and quickly became an industry favorite, churning out thin-crust pizzas and modern takes on Italian comfort food. And with Adriano Paganini (Back of the House Inc. restaurant group) and chef Ruggero Gadaldi at the helm, it’s no wonder this lively neighborhood haunt is still going strong a decade later.

Cocktails are the best. Ask for the Field Guide to Birds menu. Get there early and sit outside unless you're already hearing impaired. Inside the music is loud and guests shout to be heard.
