Hiking, rock-climbing. Mission trails one of the most famous hiking areas in San Diego. We recommend going in Spring or a sunny day in the Winter or Fall. Since it is a bit inland, this area can get quite hot during the summer. There are hiking trails that can take you up the mountains or down to the creeks and ponds throughout the valley.

This is a large hiking area with hundreds of trails to chose from. I recommend hiking Cowel’s Mountain trail. It’s about 1.5 miles incline to the top. Not too rigorous, but gives a beautiful view of downtown and you can see the ocean on a clear day.
