These giant aluminum tusks along Moi Avenue were built to commemorate a visit by Princess Margaret. You can't leave Mombasa without to have been photographed at pembe za ndovu as a remembrance about great experiences from Mombasa

One of the favorite landmarks in Mombasa with visitors is the centrally located gigantic elephant tusks (Pembe za ndovu). You really can't say you have been to Mombasa until you've seen these, whether on foot or as you drive by :) Unlike other sights, this wonderful landmark is entirely freefor you to visit, take photographs and enjoy. We would recommend that you definitely take a trip down to Moi Avenue to take a snap of these incredible elephant tusks during your trip to Kenya's second-largest city

You haven’t been to Mombasa if you don’t take a picture at this famous sight . Pembe za Ndovu , Swahili for elephant tusks was constructed by the British colonial administration, the giant tusks served as a commemoration of the historical visit to Kenya by Queen Elizabeth II in 1952.
