Barra de Guartiba is located in an ecological reserve region that has Atlantic forest, mangroves, restinga and beaches. It is an old fishing village, so it is a safe and familiar neighborhood. There are several beaches around that you can reach by trail (50min), or the closest that is a 5-minute walk. If you like landscaping, there is nearby the sitio Roberto Burle Marx as a UNESCO heritage and also the Telegraf Mountain (30min.trail), as one of the most famous attractions of Rio. Also, there you can rent a kayak and stand up paddle to tour and enjoy the mangroves of guaratiba.
