For me the most beautiful lake (I grew up here...), you can walk or jog around, and the water is lovely to swim between April and November (some people swim there year around) - a must see! You can even rent rowing boats for a romantic afternoon :) And yes, it has tiny beaches but you have to look for them...

Berlin is sadly not beach-adjacent, so in summer everyone goes to the lakes! When it’s too hot to be a tourist, follow the locals and head to Schlachtensee. Get the train to either Nikolassee or Schlactensee Sbahn station and find a lakeside spot somewhere! There’s a lawn out the front of the Schlactensee train station, but it’s normally crowded so I recommend walking around to the other side of the lake and finding a little “beach” to set up camp on. There’s also a place to rent boats from if that takes your fancy.
