The Museum of the 20th century is a true Feast of Recognition. You will discover nice objects from the past, but also learn about poverty, hard and long work and simple living conditions. Never before has so much changed in one century as in the twentieth century! A century that gave everyone more free time, made everyone more mobile, just think of the car and (moped) bicycle, a century that allowed us to communicate all over the world and drastically changed our society.

This museum in Hoorn is located at the former prison on Oostereiland of Hoorn. It has regular and temporary exhibitions with themes especially for families - with a focus on family life in the last century through the displays of hundreds of objects from the 20th century (between 1900 and 1980)
