If traditional with a twist is more your style, Ellie’s Bakery, a Parisian-inspired café, offers breakfast egg sandwiches with a sweet tomato jam that even Food Network’s Alton Brown can’t resist. Ellie’s also offers cooking classes for those interested in macarons or other tasty treats.

Ellie’s is my favorite bakery in Providence. They have a gorgeous, large space right across from the Providence Performing Arts Center with indoor and outdoor seating. During the day it’s a counter service restaurant and is full service for dinner. Their cakes and breads are incredible. Owned by the same people as Gracie’s (another favorite).
