At the heart of Morvan forest, Bibracte has risen from the ashes over time. The city of the Aedui tribe witnessed some of the great events in Gallo-Roman history, and today there is an incredible visitor's centre there, and the site is listed as a "Grand Site de France": a 100% natural environment, ruins as far as the eye can see, an ultra modern museum... What more could you ask for?

On the beautiful mountain of Beuvray, with it's beautifully formed trees, you find the museum of Bibracte and some of the excavations of the former Gaule city.

This is a beautiful excavation slash museum. It used to be one of the three main trade centers of the Gallic era. It's like walking through Asterix and Obelix. Pretty amazing, less than an hour drive away.
