An intimate venue with an off-Broadway crowd, I go for Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind on weekend nights. The cast tries to perform 30 plays in 60 minutes. Each sketch is raw and kinetic because the audience shouts the number of the sketch they want to see. I once saw a sketch where they all pulled their pants down and spoke with their assholes. Sit in the front rows if you’re game to be involved in the sketches. There is a lot of audience participation in this show.

The New York Neofuturists perform 30 plays in 60 minutes every Friday and Saturday night here. A good mix of experimental and personal theatre, and it is always a blast.

Infinite Wrench improv - Friday and Saturday nights. Check out KGB bar upstairs, and a speakeasy on the top floor. East 4th Street is one of my favorites in NYC. The history is rich and you'll be able to tell by the bar and theater
