Eines Tages führte uns der Zufall nach El Cuyo – und schon die Einfahrt nahm uns den Atem: Über eine rosafarbene Lagune mit Flamingos, hinein ins Dorf, vorbei an einer alten Maya-Pyramide, auf der ein Leuchtturm thront. Die Straßen sind aus Sand, überall Kokospalmen, und der feine weiße Strand erstreckt sich kilometerweit. Wir waren sofort verzaubert und haben uns in diesen „Rohdiamanten“ verliebt. Mit viel Herzblut haben wir ihn liebevoll renoviert, um seine natürliche Schönheit zu bewahren.
