River Ridge Retreat is a beautiful 4-bed 3-bath home on 1.3 wooded acres in the gated River Ridge community just 6 mi from Boone. This little cabin, surrounded by mountain laurels with a bubbling creek that runs behind the screened back porch, features a downstairs bedroom with a queen bed and a sleeping loft with two twins. The rustic interior is comprised of huge logs, cement chinking, with wood floors, walls, doors, and ceilings. The gas logs in the fireplace are surrounded by floor to ceiling rocks. The kitchen with stainless appliances is well appointed. One and a half baths and laundry room provide conveniences.

Cottage on the New is a vacation home in Todd, NC with the New River running right in the front yard! ***NOTE: our private shared bridge sustained damage from Hurricane Helene and we are still waiting for it to be replaced. It looks bad, but is still usable. *** The outdoors is your playground with skiing, biking, tubing, canoeing, kayaking, and fishing at your fingertips. If relaxing is your style, simply enjoy the view of the river valley from the hot tub, hammock or rocking chairs.

Hurricane Helene Update: We are incredibly fortunate that our property did not suffer damage from the storm and the main roads to and from our home are accessible. Internet and power have been restored, and our property is ready to offer a lovely refuge for anyone needing a temporary place to stay. We are devastated by the losses experienced in Western NC and encourage any locals to reach out with a message prior to booking if you want to spend a few days at the Hemlock. We want to help.
