The Gingerbread House

Experience a piece of Valdez history when you stay at the Gingerbread House! This house was originally built on the old Valdez townsite, then moved and renovated after the 1964 tsunami. This home is located in town and is within walking distance of Valdez's restaurants, shops and attractions. Inside are two bedrooms with queen and full size beds. Thompson House is historic, quirky, unique and comfortable. It survived the 1964 9.2 earthquake and tsunami that caused Old Valdez to relocate to the new and present town site. An addition more than doubled the size of the original one room cabin which included an extensive remodel.
