This rustic and romantic cottage is situated adjacent to Die Waenhuis restaurant, in the heart of Nieu-Bethesda. Surrounded by beautiful views, guests can access a variety of walks, Restaurants, shops and the Owl House from here. Our cottage boasts a typical Karoo style open-plan kitchen, Dover stove, living room, en-suite bathroom with bath and shower, main bedroom with double bed, spare room with two single beds. Entertainment patio overlooking the courtyard and garden.

Enjoy a peaceful stay at our karoo farmstay cottage, 30km's outside Beaufort West. Expect a serene & spacious space with gorgeous views of the karoo landscape with wildlife & livestock roaming around the cottage. The cottage can accommodate up to six guests with cozy and sunny bedrooms. There is a BBQ area at the front of the cottage & a fire pit at the back to enjoy a braai while watching the karoo stars. 3 Fully equipped self catering thatch roof charlets, each sleep 4 people. En suite bathroom. Open plan living area, kitchen, fully equiped and private braai area. Use of the swimming pool at the 2 bedroom charlets (depending on the water situation) . Can add matresses per unit. Visit our famous Farmstall for the best Karoo lamb (cut and packed), Karoo Olives, home made jams, biltong, droewors , venison pies, curious, gifts and much more.

Playwright's House, Nieu-Bethesda

This unpretentious, rustic and secluded Karoo home is where internationally acclaimed playwright and writer Athol Fugard wrote between 1990 and 2017. It's on the peaceful northeastern corner of our quaint village. Crystal-clear Karoo air, intense night skies, crackling winter fires, tranquillity. The cottage draws travellers, explorers, friends & families seeking connection; and it's an inspiring creative space.

Charming Heritage Cottage

This historic townhouse is within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants. The private courtyard is ideal for a braai (barbecue), or a quiet coffee. The house is child-friendly, and pets are welcome too. A gun-safe is provided, ideal for hunters. The stove is gas, so cooking during load-shedding is never a problem! As with many Graaff-Reinet houses, there is ONLY ON-STREET PARKING. There is also no TV.
