Kokako Lodge

Kokako Lodge is a compact self contained haven, with upcycled rustic decor. The lodge sits on our family property of 1 acre, it has established trees and gardens. Kokako lodge is a separate abode to the main house. It has a main bedroom with a queen sized bed and a mezzanine floor above the kitchen which has 2 single or a king size bed. The walls are adorned with local artists drawings and paintings. Kokako lodge is 5 minute drive from the city and close to the Wanganui river walk. A real treasure.

Misty Mountain Hut - Ruapehu

Misty Mountain Hut-Ruapehu is located in the sleepy little village of Rangataua, 5 minutes distance to Mountain road going up to the Turoa skifield and Ohakune. The 1 bedroom colonial villa has a beautiful view of the mountain. Unlimited wifi and a new firebox with plenty of firewood and a heat pump ensure you are warm in winter. My favourite time here is summer for amazing walks/cycling up mountains to enjoy majestic views. Misty Mountain Hut supports local staff by paying $40/hr for cleaning.

Tau Studio is a boutique style chalet with a modern stylish decor and a hint of luxury. Everything is provided including top quality linen. It is very spacious but also has a lovely cosy, warm feel. Perfect for couples. It is based in the lovely quiet village of Rangataua which is only a 5-minute drive to Ohakune township where there are plenty of cafes, restaurants and shops. The winter offers fantastic skiing and snowboarding, and summer offers lots of walks, mountain biking and fishing.

Our cabin is situated in the closest residential village to Whakapapa Ski Field and the Tongariro Alpine Crossing - a famous one day trek. You’ll love the view of the mountain (on a clear day) and the ambiance of a warm log fire. Great for all those wanting to explore the beauty of the National Park and Central Plateau, skiing and snowboarding (winter season), tramping, mountain biking (all year round) or just taking a much needed break away from it all. Bella's Rest Guesthouse
