Griffin - The Lake Superior Riverboat

Channel your inner Mark Twain. Read, rock, and relax on the water, at the foot of a retired Northern Pacific Ore dock. The Griffin is a functioning riverboat, driven by paddle wheels, originally modeled after historic Mississippi steamboats. It is located at a mom and pop boat yard, which is quite different from a fancy marina. Work happens here. Metal is welded here. Engines are torn apart and put back together here. This lovely cottage has woods, hiking trails, and perenial gardens right outside the door. There are ski trails a mile away and the Redhead Mountain Bike park 8 miles away. The 2 Bdrm, 2 Bath home is fully furnished and has been completely renovated. The kitchen has everything needed to dine at home. The deck provides a peaceful view of the woods; and the 3 season porch and loft den offer lovely places to relax and read. In the winter the wood stove provides a toasty ambiance.

This cabin was built for family gatherings and a recreational retreat and has been in the family for years. We offer a place to sleep 4 with a pull-out couch, full kitchen, bar area, dining table and a small bathroom with a shower and sink. We also have an outside hydrant to rinse off your equipment or clean your fish and game. Be on the lookout for Moose, Deer, Bear, Fox, Grouse, and many of birds and listen for an occasional Timber Wolf in the night. Trailer parking is onsite.
