A hidden gem in the heart of the national forest. A stylish 1 bedroom self contained apartment with fully kitted open plan kitchen, tea/coffee and nespresso machine, hairdryer, 2 x TV, ironing board and iron. This is a great stopover for people flying from East Midlands airport as it's a mere 10 minute drive, the M1 and M42 motorways can be reached in minutes, it's a central location for cities such as Nottingham, Leicester, Derby and Birmingham, also close to Loughborough which is a great for visiting students. Cyclists can step out of the front door onto the NCN 6 route which leads onto the cloud trail which goes all the way to Derby. Walkers will be spoilt for choice only being minutes away from the famous Bradgate Park, Calke Abbey and Staunton Harold.

This 1840 Mill Cottage is ideally located for strolling to Darley Abbey Mills, now an exclusive wedding venue with its Michelin listed restaurant, wine bars and Spanish tapas. Located on the banks of the Derwent it's exceptionally placed to walk by the river to Derby cathedral. With courtyard, Wifi, Smart TVs, kitchen, lounge, one double & one queen sized bedroom, small sofa bed and delightful Jack ‘n’ Jill bathroom, this is a rare find near the old Mills. NB. Stairs can be steep for the infirm.

The Outhouse - Ground Floor Studio (Entire place)

The 'Outhouse' is a ground floor self contained studio which has been lovingly renovated and opened to our first guests in December 2019. Just a 2-3 minute walk from the centre of Melbourne, a beautiful georgian market town with a fabulous selection of pubs, cafes, restaurants & shops. The studio is divided into a shower room, kitchen with the living area and bedroom in one open plan space. The Outhouse sleeps 2 people in a double bed, with the benefit of air-con during the hot summer months.

The Green Room, whether you are here for pleasure or work, you may come and go at ease with your own private access and outside stairs into your own sunken garden. Our light and airy basement bedroom with kitchenette, fridge, microwave and coffee machine, has a spacious dining space doubling as a tranquil desk and private ensuite bathroom. When the weather is kind enjoy your own sunken garden with outdoor dining space and lighting. Kick back, relax and unwind in this calm, stylish Green space.

Melbourne is a vibrant little town with plenty of history and culture, offering lots to see and do in the area, and in good walking country.

Perfectly located to explore some of south Derbyshires most beautiful sights, Calke Abbey, Staunton Harold, Donington Race track are all nearby.

The historic cottage is an ideal base from which to explore Derby, Derbyshire and the Peak District National Park. NB: The bridge to the mills is currently closed, so access is via alternative routes.

Ticknall is just 2miles away, with beautiful walks through National Trust Calke Abbey and Anchor Church caves which is just a stones throw away. The cottage is self contained, with new facilities and open plan living. The stone walls, oak beams and vaulted ceiling with 3 sky light windows create a light spacious feeling.On evenings to enjoy being cosy, there is a electric log burner while you relax.
