An area of outstanding natural beauty, close to Ashbourne, within easy reach of Bakewell, Buxton, and for a fun filled day out, Alton Towers. Excellent Pub 5 mins walk away!

Charming Peak District Cottage - Old Shippon

The Old Shippon is a super little self-catering cottage for 2 situated in the glorious Peak District National Park. A cosy secluded retreat with wood-burner, fully equipped kitchen, private garden and secure off-road drive parking. Stunning views and walks from the door. The famous Dovedale beauty-spot is easily accessible straight from the cottage. There are 2 good cycling trails close by where you can hire bikes or if you bring your own we have a secure bike store.A very warm welcome awaits!

Local pubs in Butterton, Hulme End and Warslow. Lovely local towns nearby include Ashbourne, Buxton, Bakewell and Leek. Grindon is the perfect get away for those craving peace and tranquility.

This romantic retreat is set in the heart of the picturesque village of Butterton which overlooks the beautiful Manifold Valley in the Peak District. The lanes are lined with pretty sandstone cottages and an idyllic ford runs through the cobbled street below the cottage and a great country pub is round the corner.
