Take a break and unwind at this peaceful oasis on a working ranch. Built in the late 1800's. Immigrant family homestead. The Indians use to meet under the large oak trees in the front yard. The cottage is about a 5 minute drive to town, so you have the advantage of being peacefully out in the country enjoy the dark night sky full of stars. There are 3 AC window units in the Cottage, the Living room, the Master and the Kitchen, the house easily cools to 70 degrees on a hot day.

On forty acres between Johnson City and Pedernales Falls Park, the cabin offers a private light filled space in the heart of all the fun of the Texas Hill Country. Only 3 miles from Pedernales Falls Park, Amustus Ranch is near all that the Hill Country has to offer. Nature adventures, wine tasting,and more are all within a short drive of this secluded spot. Located on 4 acres nestled in the Hill Country just 30 minutes west of downtown Austin, our cabin is a great space for wine, beer, or distillery visits/tours. Hamilton Pool and Pedernales Falls are close by as well. Also a great spot if you’re coming for a wedding. ***Please note that this cabin has an incinerator toilet, called “Incinolet”. It is clean and easy to use, although somewhat rustic. We will provide instructions for proper use at check in.***

New Life Farms-The Writer's Cabin

Our rustic Writer's Cabin is absolutely charming. The 16 x 20 main room has a queen size bed, Roku TV, poker table, and efficiency kitchen area that includes a small fridge with freezer, microwave, coffee-maker, and double sink. The bathroom has a large shower and a rod for your hanging clothes. You will also enjoy the rockers on the front porch, which are great for sipping coffee while visiting, watching life on the farm and awesome sunsets!
