The barn is exclusive use with own self check in entry. It is an ideal location for the fresh air of the South Downs National Park, country walks, pubs and coastal visits. Alternatively, drive 20 minutes either way to Brighton or Eastbourne for the arts, nightlife or restaurant scenes. This accommodation provides a warm and comfortable welcome providing peace and quiet within a village environment. We are situated near the South Downs which is accessible by bike or car, only a 3 mile drive/ride in country lanes. The opera house Glyndebourne is a short distance, as is Charleston farmhouse, the country home of the Bloomsbury set. Ideally situated for the best of East Sussex. We have a private drive for you to park and separate access to the barn, to allow privacy. There is an area of garden and terrace available for you to enjoy the views. All the accommodation is on one level and assistance to terrace from the garden for wheelchairs will be made available if required. We live in the house north of the barn and will be mostly available to help with local knowledge of trips, attractions and restaurant recommendations. Our local inn The Yew Tree is most welcoming and offers our local ale "Harveys" as well as many of the local artisan brews such as Longman. The house is a three-minute walk from the village store offering homemade foods and local produce, as well as a cafe. The beaches at Seaford and Newhaven are a 15-minute drive away. There are wonderful village pubs all within striking distance. Berwick station is only 2.5 miles away with trains going to London, Gatwick, Brighton and Eastbourne. The airport LGW London Gatwick is a 45 minute drive away, LHR London Heathrow 1hr 15 minutes approx. The public transport is limited and we would recommend you use a taxi if you do not have a car. The barn has extensive views, including the bedroom which has a wonderful view across the gardens. The barn adjoins a large green field which is grown for meadow hay. The sunsets behind the ancient saxon burial mound known as Mount Caburn. The burning sky sunsets are the best!

Enjoy morning coffee or outdoor dining on the large decking area or just relax whilst fishing. In spring, the woods come alive with bluebells and delicate flowers, creating enchanting mornings and nature-filled days. In summer, bask in long golden evenings; in autumn, watch the leaves turn rich shades over the lake. Ideal for couples seeking peace, nature, and comfort.

Shepherds hut, wonderful views & 4 nosey alpacas.

Looking for a romantic countryside escape with a few unusual neighbours! Our cosy shepherd’s hut sits beside a fenced field where our four, new but friendly alpacas live, so you’ll have some very charming company during your stay (possibly a few sheep!). Spend your days hiking, visiting Brighton/Eastbourne, or simply relaxing on a deck chair with a glass of Prosecco. With peaceful surroundings, birdsong and clear starry skies! *Currently in the process of ordering and installing a new hot tub!*

Jacks Cottage -

A beautiful oak framed building with great views of the south downs. Accommodation comprising of a comfortable lounge with TV and wifi and log burner. The kitchen is well equipped with a dishwasher, oven and microwave. One double bedroom downstairs with en suite shower room. Upstairs there is a mezzanine with two single beds and a sitting area above the lounge area with a bathroom with free standing bath. The outside space is a south facing patio with table and chairs and a BBQ is available.

The Cart Lodge a cosy rural hideaway

Situated in a secluded part of our 16th century farm, this detached, south facing cart barn has been converted to a very high standard. In an ideal location overlooking a large duck pond and with distant views to the South Downs. It is a great base for walking the Wealdway or cycling the Cuckoo Trail. Places to explore include Lewes and Eastbourne, 9 miles. Glyndebourne 6 miles. An excellent pub and restaurant is within a ten minute walk along country footpaths. The village shop 2 miles.

Blackbird Shepherds Hut is nestled on a rural estate, away from the bustle of the South East, just an hour from London. A natural habitat for wilderness. The spectacular landscape, dark night skies and breath-taking wildlife provide a truly inspirational escape. It is a very special place, handmade by the owners and full of artistic charms which provide an idyllic setting for a weekend escape or simply to immerse yourself in nature and have time to hear the dawn chorus and the owls.

The Hut in the Paddock - VERY DOG FRIENDLY!!

The Hut is in a completely private and securely fenced paddock. It has a double bed, under floor heating, television, outdoor shower, wifi. There is a kitchen, shower room and sitting room with a sofa bed, television/DVD player in the stables. There is also a smaller hut. There are two fire pits and a barbecue. Important - if you are visiting for a party, wedding etc, it is NOT permitted to leave your dog alone in the hut or sitting room while you are away from the paddock.
