Unwind and relax in your luxury safari tent while sitting high on the hilltop overlooking Lake Travis & the Texas Hill Country. This retreat with Heating and A/C includes a kitchenette and full bathroom. Take advantage of your private deck and personal soaking tub either by day or starlit night. This is the perfect couple's getaway to escape the daily grind, celebrate an occasion or to reconnect. Also included is a community area with a pond pool, gas grill, hot tub, fire pit and lounging area.

The Tipi

We are excited for our guests to experience this magical Tipi. It is glamping at its finest. We tried to include authentic type decor to honor life in a tipi while adding modern conveniences. Furnishings include a comfy queen size bed and two chairs to relax in along with animal rugs and soft blankets. The indoor and outdoor lighting adds to the romance of this unit. It's fairly close to the water, a short walk to go take a dip or go fishing there are also loungers, swings and patio furniture.

Nature, Rest & Restoration! Dark Sky Community! An authentic custom designed African safari tent completely closed off to the outside with AC/ heater. Sinya is a luxurious one unit which provides a secluded, private and romantic couples retreat - luxurious feather down bedding on a king-size bed, a delux bathroom with a 74" soaking bathtub with heater and chromotherapy lighting, lavender soaps and lotions. A cowboy hot tub with heater/chiller, outside shower. Indoor kitchenette, refrigerator.

Studio Tents

Walden Retreats is a luxury camping retreat located a few miles outside of Johnson City on 96 acres. Our studios are 440 sq ft luxury safari tents that feature a wrap around deck, private outdoor shower and fire pit. Each tent has air conditioning, king size bed, kitchen, and private bathroom. Maximum occupancy in studios is 2 guests. If you need additional space, the suites are a larger option.
