The remains of Llanthony Priory were incorporated many years ago into a hotel. But most of the abbey can be explored for free - amongst the stunning backdrop of the Llanthony valley.
The Priory was one of the casualties of Henry VIII’s dissolution of the monasteries.

This church was built on a landslide, and continued to move after it was built. The church tower leans more than the leaning tower of Pisa! There isn’t a right angle in the place. It’s quirky, beautiful, and very disorienting. Definitely worth a visit.
