Ryvarden Lighthouse is one of the favorite points of interest in the region. From the parking lot, it will take you about 20 minutes of walking on a gravel road in a beautiful scenery to the lighthouse.
From the lighthouse you can enjoy a panoramic view to the ocean, with incredible sunsets.

Three cannon positions, a watch tower and bunkers. The view is amazing.

The first Norwegian king is buried under this monument. The large monolith represents the king, while the smaller ones represents the local kings that were defeated or merged when King Harald united Norway to one kingdom.

Åkrasanden

Haugesund
Haugesund is a cozy medium sized city (in Norwegian reference).
It offers a fresh climate with clean air, lots of places to eat and drink. Most is found at the waterfront and along the pedestrian steed "Haraldsgata"
The city is quite compact, giving you the advantage of reaching everything by foot.
This is a very small, but charming town. It has shops with all the basic supplies you need. This town is the closest one from the apartment. About 7 minutes by car.
In close vicinity you can also find hiking trails and the Golf Course.

Nabolag
For the locals this is one of the favorite hiking areas. The trails go along a lake with a beach and goes further in through the forest. There are several hiking trails made of gravel roads - Stroller friendly.

Bus is the only available public transportation
You can get around in the region using buses. They will take you north and south. Haugesund is the closest city, about 15 minute bus ride from the apartment to the south.
Sveio is the closest town about 10 minute busride northbound.
Note that there is a 10 minute walk from the apartment to the bus stop by the mainroad
