Uniqe, street-culture vibe. Decor is all local artists. Food is SOSO good. Sangria is a MUST.

Pokez is a good option for a more low key night. It is a quirky Mexican restaurant that has a ton of different options for everyone. Very vegan and vegetarian friendly. Be warned, the portions are huge but the food is very tasty. It is about a ten minute walk down 10th Ave. You can eat there, or easily take it to go. ~$15 per person 947 E Street(East Village) Bookings not needed

Just two min away is the best Mexican food gem in downtown. I love the chicken floutas - giant light crispy rolled tacos + pico de gallo + guacamole. If you're vegetarian, this place loves you back.

Vegetarian Mexican downtown. Be sure to try the sangria. My favorite is the mushroom tofu enchiladas.
