This museum and public park was built as a stone fortress at the turn of the 17th century and marked the beginning of the walled city's riverside barricades.

If you're into historical events and places, this is one of the places you really should visit in Manila! It's like a walk through the Philippines' past. A must see is the Rizal museum inside the fort. It is some distance away, but well worth the travel I think :-)
