Rattlesnake Trail, 5 miles round-trip to Gibraltar Road or 3.5 miles round-trip to meadow. trail features beautiful views of Santa Barbara, Islands, creek access, wildflowers. Sturdy shoes a MUST!

This trail doesn't necessarily mean you will encounter a rattlesnake! That is just the name of the canyon. One canyon over from Tunnel Trail, this hike is also within 15 minutes of downtown. There is almost always plenty of water in the creek, and the trail is always shady, making this the most popular trail in Santa Barbara. It is also relatively easy compared to just about all the other trails in the area. It is well-maintained, gentle, and there are no mountain bikes allowed. 3.5 miles round trip.

One of my favorite hiking trails, this one winds its way through a canyon and up to the top of a hill! Make it long or short, but it's quiet and peaceful and you can make it as strenuous as you like.

We are not really hikers, but if you like hiking and aren't intimidated by the name, this is supposed to be some great hiking :)
