Vidant Medical Center’s Center for Learning and Performance (CLP) in collaboration with East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine Interprofessional Clinical Simulation Program, provides multi-disciplinary professionals, staff, and students with simulation-based learning utilizing a variety of simulation modalities. The goal of simulation-based learning is to provide a safe and realistic learning experience, without the risk of compromising patient safety. The Vidant Medical Center (VMC) simulation component of the BSOM Clinical Simulation Program integrates procedural skills and task training, critical thinking, communication skills, and interprofessional collaboration to increase patient safety and quality of care. The provision of this state of the art interprofessional simulation program is paramount to the attainment of Vidant Medical Center’s mission to improve the health and well-being of Eastern North Carolina.
