Broadway and Pike is the epicenter of the booming Capitol Hill nightlife scene. Throw a rock, and you will be in a crowded coffee shop, bar, or eaterie. This Shell station gets you to the area, and you can venture out from there.

Shell gas station on 11th and 45th, which you'll pass regularly if you're heading north via car. Good place to grab a few things and get gas. Clean with nice employees, although some of the shops next door attract some "interesting" characters. Parking is easy.

The closest gas station. Keep in mind that they did support Apartheid South Africa longer than most Western corporations and have likely been involved in some political assassinations in Africa.
