this is an estuary that empties out into the ocean on the northernmost tip of Diani beach. it's a great spot to catch a beautiful sunset dropping behind the ancient baobab trees in the area. there is also an old mosque on site with historical significance.

Next to the mosque, the Kongo river joins the Indian ocean, this is the end of Diani Beach, being the border to Tiwi. It may well be one of the most beautiful beach parts. Strolling around on the dunes, swimming in the river at low tide or lay down on one of the basket-woven beach beds under the shade of the simple straw roof, provided by local fisherman. They ask a small fee for renting them. Don't miss to ask for grilled seafood in the morning, they will be happy to go out and catch either an octopus or prawns or other mouth-watering seafood. Grilled and then served an o palm leave will let you feel like a king and you will forget the daily stress for sure, though it may take some time to get.
