The one-storey Grand Saline Salt Palace building is made entirely out of natural rock salt and you will be given a salt crystal as a souvenir, enough to deter you from licking the salt walls of the building! You will be shown a film about the salt mining operations at Morton Salt Mines, which have actual salt mines below 750-feet of the ground.
