Its the largest art gallery in south Kolkata too, and I think the oldest! Every floor houses a gallery -- 8 floors -- some permanent and some for contemporary artists. The largest standing stone sculpture of Lord Vishnu on its lawns. Has auditoriums for cultural programmes and houses dance and art schools for young aspirants. Houses some priceless ancient sculptures. Programmes updates available online. Again, just walk a few minutes.
