Great place to try real indo/surinaams dishes while you're in Amsterdam. This place has cheap but good dishes to start, but there are many more comparable places all around Amsterdam. Highly recommend to at least try once 'Roti kip' (or Roti tempeh for the vegetarians) or 'broodje pom'

There are many people from the former dutch colony Surinam living in Amsterdam. Their food is great. Just around the corner there is a typical take away restaurant with Surinam food.
