Built in 1797 (about the same time as the Georgian Lodge!), this is a lovely 25 minute walk along the Kennet & Avon canal to the point it crosses the weir on the River Avon. Nice views, great pub called the Cross Guns, plus you'll often see herons, egrets, swans and kingfishers.

Rent a bike and cycle up Limpley Stoke Valley to the Aqueduct then on to Bradford On Avon

An aqueduct carrying the canal over the valley in wonderful countryside near Bradford on Avon (25 mins by car from us). Kayaks can be hired from the Lock Inn café (which also does really good all day breakfasts) . Or its about half an hour walk along the canal; or you can hire bikes from Towpath Trail Bike Hire. There is a small café near the aqueduct when you get there

30 mins walking distance away from our village... part way between our village and Bradford on Avon. Also location of lovely Cross Guns pub.
